DigitAll Employability Meets Reels in Motion

Feb 17
Last week, we returned to the YMCA to deliver another DigitAll Employment workshop, but this session had a special twist: we were joined by local video production agency Reels in Motion.

Their team came along to capture the day on camera, aiming to create a video that highlights the positive impact our workshops are having in the community.
It was a fantastic experience for learners to witness first-hand how a professional film crew operates. They were able to see all the equipment in action, observe filming techniques, and ask questions about what happens behind the scenes. This practical exposure to the world of video production added an extra layer of excitement and inspiration to the day, demonstrating how digital skills can open the door to creative career paths.

Matt Hubbard, Director at Reels in Motion, reflected on the experience:

“It’s always a privilege to create powerful videos that showcase the impact of initiatives like the DigitAll Employment workshops. Beyond capturing the day on film, we loved engaging with participants, sharing insights into video production, and hopefully inspiring future careers in the creative industry. Supporting the local community by offering hands-on experience is something we’re passionate about, and we look forward to future collaborations that help people develop valuable workplace skills.”

Beyond the filming itself, the workshop focused on employability essentials, from crafting a CV to navigating online job platforms. We’ve always believed a hands-on, interactive approach is one of the best ways to foster curiosity and build confidence. Having Reels in Motion on-site perfectly illustrated not just the importance of digital literacy, but also how these skills can translate into diverse professional opportunities.

Looking ahead, we’re keen to collaborate further with local businesses - offering insight into specific industries, providing networking opportunities, or sharing resources that will benefit our learners. Connecting local talent with meaningful opportunities is central to our mission, and we invite any organisation interested in sharing their expertise to get involved.

Finally, we’d like to thank Reels in Motion for their wonderful support and professionalism. If you’re seeking a reliable partner for any filming or video production needs, we can wholeheartedly recommend their services.
